Yonders Henry by Thorne Smith (from Esquire)

Yonders Henry - this Thorne Smith story first appeared in Esquire magazine's February 1934 issue. It was subsequently reprinted in their "Bedside" collection edited by Arnold Gingrich. You can often find copies of this collection at very reasonable prices on Ebay, Amazon and other online auction sites.

Here is what the book cover of that collection looks like.

Unfortunately, it is getting more and more difficult to find the book with the cover still intact.

I'm also working on getting a scan or photo of the magazine cover. I've got it packed away and need to dig it out of my extensive collection of Thorne Smith materials.

I am also checking on the copyright issues regarding this story to see if I can make it available here for your reading pleasure. In the meantime, you can find it online if you look hard enough but the formatting of it makes it a bit of a chore to read. Check back soon to see if we can make this available to you in an easy to read format.
